The host of a radio show that airs on NPR has been fired because she sits on a committee advising the Occupy Washington protest. Lisa Simeon, who works on music documentaries, was reportedly let go because the ran afoul of public broadcasting’s code of ethics.
You think people in public media would have learned from the Juan Williams fiasco, apparently not. Simeon does not not work for NPR directly, yet the network feels justified reaching into her personal business justifying it as an ‘ethics’ issue. What? She is not a news reporter and works on music programming. It is the folks at NPR that have the ethics issue.
